Glen Rose

We went to the tracks, the dinosoaur tracks that is. in Glen Rose, Texas.

We examined them, easy to do in a drought.
They begged to go back to Dinosaur World.
A sign all good cowpokes appreciate.  Problem was they had no grass, not too many cows left in their country either.
Nothing like a little brotherly"peenchy weenchy" on the cheek.
Good fun in 105+ degree weather...they golfed afterwards, I did not.
We really didn't see Dinosuar World...not quite our thing.  But the tracks were cool!

First Day of School 2011

The Jahn Preparatory School and Elgin High School are in full swing as of today! Do pray for all involved, they'll need it. Most of the family is back together (to some degree and distance between buildings) at Elgin Public Schools, one teaching in pre-first, one administering at Stoney Point and three little ones scattered through the middle school and into high school. It is a good day...it looks rainy!

A Showmanship for Spencer!

Jr. Jr. has won a showmanship contest and we are oh, so thrilled.  He did very well, calm and cool while leading his girl Popper into a stance.  We're just SO proud of him, it was a blessing. Sweat beads and all!

Just a little left arm cow slobber to cool a boy off.

He showed "Elizabeth" you know, from "Shoooot 'em Lizbeth" on her first time out.  They both did well.  Elizabeth's momma went along for moral support.
And a big thanks to Mr. B for showing "Ruth"!!! His first time too!

Becoming a Freshman

Tonight he enrolled in the 9th grade.  Happy as a clam to see his buddies.  Pleased to see a few of the other gender as well.
Insuring his Mother that honors classes weren't really necessary...especially Honors English.  Mother wasn't convinced.
.
Just the other day he was a "gun slinger" with cool new guns and a really cool gun belt that Bud & Gma had made for him for Christmas.   Time does fly.
