Good Things
RAIN is a good thing, we've received over 1.5 inches...I'd be more exact but the gauge is leaning and it was pouring when we checked it. Spent the evening at Open House in the Middle School. Good rain and good teachers.

Chicken Ranching Girl
Little Red here won some big $$ while showing her chicken at the Cement International Fair. She was blessed to receive two blue first place ribbons for ONE chicken! She thinks that is pretty cool!
The two below entertained and pestered the masses.
These four were there to visit, observe and appreciate young heifer and chicken exhibitors. One of them was blessed with winning $100 and he thought that was COOL!

Losing Things
Today I am glad that God made me...and that he glued my arms and legs on....if not, I'd be looking for them. I couldn't find my purse this morning and now I cannot find my little camera. I'd be posting a picture off of it if I could!! May your day be more organized than mine.

Peach Fuzz
While traveling on our little trip to New Braunfels we stopped at a peach stand near Lampasses, Texas. They were WONDERFUL! Each peach was heavily covered in fuzz and the conversation soon centered around the phrase "peach fuzz" and it's origination. We ate and discussed peaches....meanwhile youngest was rubbing the peach on his face....30 minutes later we pulled into an H.E.B. store to buy benedryl...he had a reaction to the real peach fuzz.....

Cold Front
The wind is blowing from the North...we just might have snow tomorrow!! They say if you don't like the weather wait a day or two and it will change. We are ready for some change here...not the Obama kind though.

Hecklers
Oldest Kid is riding a horse for our neighbor. The two Hecklers on the fence were all full of advice, words of wisdom and encouraging comments...such as "if you kick the bucket I get your _____________", or "Spur her some more, we want to see some action". No bucket kicking has occured. All three have been forced back to the salt mines...school.

Our Back to School Ritual
Each morning on the first day of school we pose for "the" picture. The boys hold up the number of fingers which represent the grade they'll be attending ...... for my benefit as I might not always date them correctly nor will I remember if Rip or Snort was wearing that outfit in the 5th or 6th or 7th or 8th grade...Our youngest darling must have been too sleepy to hold his hand up straight...so that you could see that he's entering the 5th grade. Bless his heart...his mean old parents have worked him to a frazzle over the summer...

Early AM
Getting up early is hard on me. Rip & Snort here didn't appreciate it much either, they had been to the lake yesterday, were sunburned a bit and were tired. But before the sun came up we were baling hay....until a minor hydraulic leak forced a trip to Chickasha for a replacement hose as well as biscuits and gravy at Braums. The boys did a great job fixing our little problem....that is why God gave us boys...He knew that their Momma was a mechanical idgit.
