If it makes you feel any better, I think everybody has had a cooking flop. Me, I've had SEVERAL :)!!! I don't have a LOT of experience with french toast BUT, the few times I've made it I just barely dip the bread into the egg/milk mixture and then have the skillet/griddle really HOT when you throw it on. I usually just do pancakes or waffles :)!!! My family likes them better anyway, and MUCH simpler :)!!!!!
