Mag & The Boom Boom Stick

This is Maggie.

Some darling soul blessed us with her, really they dumped her.  She is gun shy and more than likely that is the reason we were honored with her many years ago.  The boys were reading and listening to Hank the Cowdog stories during that time, so Maggie was to be her name, "Maggie was the sister of "Hank" who lived in town with her "children".  The other day Spencer and I went to Russell Farm to check cattle and to take a few pictures of the cows and their new babies. Mag jumped in for a trip to the pasture, nothing better to a dog than wind blowing through their hair and the opportunity to chase a  rabbit. Anyway, Maggie is scared of the gun, the mean, nasty flashlight that accompanies it and the CAMERA....it makes an awful sound which she just can't take.  So she dug herself deeper and deeper under the feedbox to get away from the awful Canon that was pointed her way, a few more clicks and she'd been on the hood of the feed pickup!  In the Hank series, guns are referred to as "Boom Boom Sticks", I think mostly by Rip and Snort, the coyote brothers. These books are written by John R Erickson, your kids will love them...and you will too!
