Toe Ring

This black mott heifer calf was found to be wearing jewlery...unwanted jewlery for certain.  We noticed it before her foot was damaged, thankfully the ring was broken and it would "give a little"as she walked.  The boys and I penned her and they provided the veterinary care.  I was on hand to take pictures and give a bit of guidance.

Off you go girl...gain some weight, grow and look beautiful!
ps..big word for ankle, hock, calf foot..it is the priximal interphalangel joint (area).  woo hoo....

  1. Don't you wonder how on earth cows get themselves into stuff? We had a calf break its own neck in a waterer that has been used thousands and thousands of times. Unbelievable. Thankfully you were able to get to her before any damage was done.
