Mr. Patterson

Wonderful teachers are few a far between. I can count the "great ones" on one hand. Mr. Patterson, standing here beside me during the pumpkin patch this year was one of them. He was the absolute first teacher that I admired. I thought..."This man is amazing, he MAKES learning fun" He was always positive, he taught us that "Nature always seeks a balance" (I bet every 6th grader in 1977 Cyril America can quote that to this day). He taught us that yes, you can have a pet rock, he made believers out of us...he had control of his classroom! I appreciated that them, I appreciate it more now. Mr. Patterson taught us in junior high also, he was a blessing to all 18 of us! (that was my whole class). So, Mr. P, thank you, yourself along with Dick Davis, James White(OSU) and my Momma (of course) were wonderful teachers and instructors ! Momma....yep I was the only kid in kindergarten who called the teacher Momma EVERY day!!

  1. I called my Kindergarten teacher Grandma, and my Granddad came in everyday to bring her the mail and me a hug and a pack of Trident gum!! -- Your dear friend Amanda :)

  2. Your tribute made my day. No - more than just my day. I made a copy and framed it. It now occupies a place on my coffee table with other teacher memorabilia. Like my rock that says "Please turn me over" the other side reads "Ah that feels much better!" Thanks!
