Shipping Day for these stocker heifers went pretty much without a hitch, except for the six that found a hole and fled from the scene. They were quitely and quickly apprehended and returned to the scene of the crime. Where they were promptly loaded into three semi trucks.
Earlier that morning say 6:30 or so, we rolled out of bed and drove up to Cow Heaven to unlock the gates so that the trucks could get into the pasture. Jr. Jr. was chief gate opener.
These two hombres were riding to make sure we had not missed one or twenty in our prior evenings gathering. Trigger & Whitey were ready to go. Trig suffered from short man syndrome while Whitey was visiting.
The trucks were loaded and then led to the scales in Elgin, then left to their own to find a feedyard near Amarillo. Good bye girls, it was nice having you visit. Come again when there is no ICE!
